Choosing the paper
Paper is half of the image. We offer a careful selection of fine art papers and help you choose among them:
Matte papers for a soft, subtle rendering.
Satin and glossy papers for greater intensity in color and contrast.
Baryta papers, whose depth and luminous blacks recall the traditional prints of the film era.
We will tell you plainly which one we believe serves your image best. When it helps, we make test prints on two papers, because the most honest way to decide is to see.
Precision you can rely on
Our screens are calibrated every week, and our equipment is kept to the same discipline. Every print is checked twice before it leaves the studio. We never make express prints at the expense of quality, and if a deadline does not allow us to do the work properly, we say so instead of promising.
Sizes and finishing
Choose a standard size or give us the exact dimensions your project requires. We can cut to size and leave white borders or specific margins so your prints reach the framer ready to be mounted. Each one is wrapped with great care to arrive intact.
Made to last
We print with archival-quality pigment inks on fine art papers, a pairing designed to keep its color and depth for generations when it is framed and stored with care. For an exhibition, the sale of a work or a place in a collection, a print should outlast the occasion it was made for.
Recently: A Sense of Place
For Harry Gruyaert’s exhibition A Sense of Place at La Chapelle du Méjean, during Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026, we produced seventy-four archival prints. We began, as we always do, with a long conversation about the spirit of the show and the feeling the prints should carry. Then we tried several papers, looking for the one that would carry that feeling best. It was not the paper Harry had been using until then. We made our case, and he agreed to change: the prints were made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 315 g.
A word about prices
Our prices are higher than the market average, and we say so from the very first exchange. They reflect more than twenty years of experience, a one-to-one relationship, and a standard we do not lower. When a budget is tight, we can suggest alternatives, such as a different paper or a more modest format, rather than compromise the work.

At Atelier Pigment, we make archival pigment prints, often called giclée prints, for photographers, artists, collectors, and institutions. After more than twenty years beside some of the most distinguished photographers of our time, we hold on to one conviction: a technically perfect print that betrays the intention of the image is a failed print.
We begin with a conversation.
Before we print anything, we ask questions. What do you want the viewer to feel? Where will the work be seen: on a museum wall, in a book, or in a private collection? A print made for a gallery and a print made for a catalog call for different choices, and we would rather make them with you than guess. This dialogue is not a luxury. It is how we translate a sensation into paper and ink, rather than simply carrying out an order.
